Thinking about buying a Devon Rex kitten? Read on to find out what you are letting yourself in for.

Devon Rex are very loving, extrovert bundles of fun with huge personalities. They can be very mischievous and inquisitive and can become easily bored especially if kept as an only cat. That is why I do recommend having another Devon or a rescue kitten as a companion.

If you already own a cat then they adapt very easily into the household. In the past, I have sold kittens to families with parrots, dogs, etc and have heard that they are all friends together. Basically if you keep your Devon entertained with toys, and games and not left alone for long periods of time then the house and your sanity will survive owning this lovable breed. You'll soon find yourself watching your Devon Rex play all day, your love for your new kitten will grow along with your ironing pile!

Devons are extremely easy to look after. With their wavy coats they do not need any grooming, just stroking is enough. Their large ears do occasionally need some attention. Just wipe out their ears with cotton wool and almond oil or a commercially available ear cleaner or wipes. They do not have any specific dietary needs. Basically they will eat anything, and thats something to watch out for too. For instance, don't leave your prime beef fillet for a minute or it will be dragged off your plate and eaten!

Due to their nature Devons are predominantly kept as indoor cats. Providing there is space for climbing, exercising and enough toys to keep them occupied then they are perfectly happy. They are not streetwise.
